Belgium’s motorway vignette for Polish drivers

Driving to or through Belgium on a Polish number plate? From 1 May 2027 you will also need a valid digital motorway vignette on Belgian motorways. Here is what that means for drivers from Poland.

Does the vignette apply to Polish plates?

Yes. The Belgian vignette applies to every car and van up to 3,500 kg, regardless of the country of registration. Polish plates are no exception. Roadside cameras automatically read your plate and check that a valid vignette is linked to it. Motorcycles, lorries and coaches are not covered.

What does it cost?

The price is the same for foreign and Belgian drivers. For a short trip, pick a short-term vignette; if you drive in Belgium often, an annual vignette works out cheaper.

VignettePrice
1 day€9
10 days€12
1 month€19
2 months€30
Year (electric)€90
Year (Euro 4+)€100
Year (older)€125

You buy a single digital vignette that is valid throughout Belgium — not separately per region. The annual rates below follow the Flemish amounts and depend on your vehicle’s Euro emission standard; short-term vignettes cost the same for every vehicle.

How to buy the vignette from Poland

The vignette is fully digital and linked to your plate — there is no windscreen sticker. From 1 March 2027 you can buy it online in advance, including from Poland. Enter your plate and country of registration, choose the period and pay before you enter the Belgian motorway.

Main routes from Poland

Poland does not border Belgium; the drive goes through Germany. You usually enter Belgium via Aachen and the E40 towards Liège, Leuven and Brussels, or via the Netherlands on the E19/E34 towards Antwerp. As soon as you drive on a Belgian motorway, you need a valid vignette.

Why this is new for Polish drivers

In Poland most state motorways have been toll-free for cars since 2023; only a few concession sections still charge. The Belgian system works differently: you pay once, in advance, for a fixed period, regardless of distance. For many Polish drivers travelling to or through Belgium, that is new.
